YOUR FIRST MEETING
Here's what you'll need for your meeting.
- Determine the architectural style -
examples - european, craftsman, prairie, etc.
- List the rooms required, the room sizes, room orientation and any other features you want within the plan.
- Determine an overall square footage excluding the garage (just actual living space).
Determine how many garage bays and what size.
- Gather the necessary building site information:
- The legal description of the property.
- Topographical survey of the property - Showing the lot slope.
- Provide a soils report - If required due to a steep sloping lot.
- Boundary survey with dimensioned property lines including bearing information:
(eg. 110.36' N78°63'12"E).
- Provide the zoning designation.
- Provide the building setback requirements.
- Provide architectural review board information if required.
- Provide height restrictions if applicable.
- Provide lateral engineering requirements (earthquake and wind calculations).
